Shred, e-cycling event coming to Chesterfield

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Chesterfield County residents can shred sensitive documents and recycle various electronics at a county event on Saturday.

From 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, March 22, the county will host a "Shred and E-Cycling Event" at the Chesterfield County Fairgrounds, located at 10300 Courthouse Road.

Any resident can bring up to two small boxes or three grocery bags of personal papers to shred for free.

Electronics recycling, which will also be offered at this event, comes with related fees. Those fees are listed below:

  • CRT televisions that are 27 inches or less: $26 per television
  • CRT televisions that are over 27 inches: $37 per television
  • Hard drives, cell phones and tablets: $8 to $10.50 per item
  • Other electronics: $5.25 to $31.50 per item
