Sound advisory: Flyover during Gubernatorial Inauguration of Gov.-elect Spanberger
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Virginia State Police is warning Richmonders that a loud ceremonial cannon fire and a military aircraft flyover will happen as part of the 75th Gubernatorial Inauguration of Gov.-elect Abigail Spanberger (D) on Saturday.
Richmonders should expect the flyover to occur about 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 17, at the State Capitol, per state police.

Members of the Virginia Army National Guard will conduct a howitzer cannon fire and an artillery salute, and members of the Virginia Air National Guard will conduct a military aircraft flyover as a scheduled part of the ceremony, according to state police.
Police are warning that Richmonders, visitors and downtown workers should expect the loud blasts during this period -- the noise may activate car or building alarms, police said.
