StormTracker 8: Single digits for most tonight; then slow warming

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -As advertised it is going to be cold tonight.  Plain and simple. We are going to have clear skies for most of the night---a few thin late night clouds are on the way—and the air is very dry over us. The bottom line on all of this is that we are headed for the single digits away from the bay, and west of US-15 there are going to be pockets of temperature below zero. (By the way, the “over/under” for Wintergreen is -8° for tomorrow morning). Ok, so we hit rock bottom overnight and we can let the warming trend start up. Tomorrow will be mostly sunny to partly cloudy in the region. We warm up into the upper 30s, which we might consider to be cold, but it will be milder compared to the past 2 days. Sunshine will be around with just a few stray clouds though the weekend. But we will be getting warmer each day and by Sunday our highs are up to around 50. Looking at next week, the weather pattern relaxes a little bit, allowing for a continuation of some milder air over us. I do see the chance for a shower on Monday, but overall, the early part of the week looks good. For the start of February, there are hints of pattern change that could open up a chance for winter weather to return for the 1st/2nd.
