StormTracker 8: Sun returns; freeze likely tonight
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) - We will see sunny skies return across Central Virginia today, but it will be a cool day with highs near 55.
Clear skies will be with us tonight with lows in the upper 20s, so a freeze is likely in many areas. If you started to plant some tender vegetables or flowers because we were so warm and you wanted to get a jump on that growing season make sure you cover everything up as we head into Wednesday morning or risk losing it with that freeze by Wednesday morning.
Wednesday we'll see plenty of sunshine with highs in the upper 50s.
Our next weather system slides in Thursday bringing us more clouds and the risk of some showers by Thursday evening. It will be seasonable with highs in the middle 60s.
Friday looks to be a rainy day with highs in the middle 60s.
That system hangs on with some clouds for Saturday and a possible shower or two and it stays seasonably cool with highs in the lower 60s.
Partly to mostly sunny skies will return for Sunday with highs in the upper 60s.
Looking ahead to Monday and Tuesday we should continue with partly to mostly sunny skies, but it will turn mild with highs in the 70s.
