StormTracker 8: Tornado Watch until Midnight

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) - A Tornado Watch is in effect for for all of central Virginia until midnight.

We will remain under a VIPIR Alert until 10:00 p.m. tonight as strong to severe storms will be moving across central Virginia. Those storms will have the potential to produce damaging winds, locally heavy downpours which could lead to some localized flooding and the possibility of tornadoes.

After 10:00 p.m. our skies will become partly cloudy and it will be comfortable tonight with lows in the middle 50s.

Saturday looks to be a better day with partly sunny skies and highs in the upper 70s. There is still the chance for a few isolated thunderstorms in the late afternoon and evening, but these should be more of the hit or miss variety.

Sunday will be a spectacular day with plenty of sunshine and highs around 75.

Monday looks to be wonderful with highs near 80 under sunny skies.

Warmer weather will begin to push in on Tuesday as we climb into the middle 80s under sunny skies.

A taste of summertime heat will be with us for Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday as we climb to near 90 each day under mostly sunny to partly sunny skies but there is the chance for a couple of isolated thunderstorms later Friday afternoon and Saturday afternoon.
