StormTracker 8: Warm & humid today with a few isolated late day storms
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) - The next few days we stay warm, humid, and breezy. Cooler temperatures return for next week.
Today we will see mostly cloudy to partly cloudy skies with highs around the middle 80s. Northern counties will be a touch cooler with highs in the upper 70s to low 80s.
A back door cold front pushes through later today bringing us the risk of a few late day isolated showers and thunderstorms. Most of these storms look to stay north of Richmond, but something to keep in mind for the Squirrels home opener today.
Any showers and storms will taper off tonight and overnight lows will drop to near 60.
We stay warm for the weekend with highs in the middle 80s both Saturday and Sunday. Mostly cloudy to partly cloudy skies will be with us for Saturday and we stay dry. It will also be breezy with winds gusting up to 20mph.
Partly sunny skies fade behind mostly cloudy skies by Sunday afternoon as showers and storms move in. Scattered showers and thunderstorms will be with us through early Monday morning. It will also be windy with gusts 25-30mph and stronger in any storms that move in.
A few lingering showers possible Monday morning before our skies clear and temperatures return to seasonable. Highs on Monday will be near 60.
We stay with plenty of sunshine as we head towards the middle of the week with highs in the upper 50s.
There is some uncertainty with our next weather system that looks to move in for the end of the work week. Our weather models are not in full agreement with timing on this system, but right now our best bet for any showers look to be late Thursday into Friday.
