RICHMOND, Va (WRIC) - We will be ending 2025 across Central Virgina on a chilly note tonight and starting 2026 across the region on a chilly note tomorrow. Details below.

Tonight’s forecast for this New Years Eve calls for partly cloudy skies overnight and chilly temperatures, getting down to the lower 30s to middle 30s. I can’t rule out some snow flurries for locations along and north of Interstate 64 on Thursday morning. Little if any accumulation is possible.

Tomorrow’s forecast for our New Years Day on Thursday calls for partly cloudy skies and chilly temperatures, rising to around 40 degrees with lighter winds compared to recent days.

Friday will be a decent day, under mostly cloudy skies and seasonable temperatures, rising into the upper 40s to around 50 degrees.

Saturday we are tracking our next chance for rainfall, and the chances have gone up versus recent days, as our next weather system will be bringing very chilly scattered showers to the region on Saturday afternoon and Saturday evening. High temperatures on Saturday, with rise into the lower 40s. One of the major computer weather models right now is suggesting a possible wintry mix for Saturday, so stay tuned as we continue to fine tune the Saturday forecast.

Sunday and Monday both look decent under partly sunny skies and cool temperatures, in the lower 40s.

Finally, next Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday all call for mostly cloudy skies each of these days, with warming temperatures.
