StormTracker8: Dreary weather continues; Improvement tomorrow

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) – Another dreary day is in store for us. Overcast skies will be the theme all day, with isolated showers possible all day. Rainfall amounts are minimal, but roadways will be slick. Highs will be in the mid 60s.

Winds could gust up to 25mph through this afternoon, with coastal areas having the potential for gustier winds.

We will also have the risk of coastal flooding. In fact, there is a coastal flood warning in effect through 9am for all of our tidal river counties and our Chesapeake Bay locations. We could be looking at a prolonged period of coastal flooding through this evening. So, if you live in low lying areas in the Northern Neck, the Middle peninsula or the Lower Peninsula, stay aware of the water rise.

Overnight, shower chances will continue. Lows will be in the low 50s. Showers will be possible through noon on Tuesday. Tuesday will be warmer and we will see some sun, with highs near 70°.

The rest of this week will be really nice. Wednesday will see lows in the 70s, then a cold front will drop our highs back into the 60s and lows to the 40s. We will be targeting Sunday for our next rain chances with another cold front.

TRACKING THE TROPICS: We have a high chance to see our next named storm develop. The next name on the list is Lorenzo. No worries for the U.S.
