StormTracker8: Finishing 2025 & Ringing in 2026 with chilly & dry conditions

RICHMOND, Va (WRIC) -- We will have a chilly end to 2025. This morning it is going to be cold with temperatures in the upper 20s to low 30s. We will slightly warm into the mid 40s by the afternoon under partly sunny skies.

If you have New Year's Eve plans, be sure to take your coat with you! The beginning of the evening will start out in the upper 30s and continue to drop by the time the clock strikes 12:00 as we ring in 2026.

New Year's day will remain chilly as highs will be in the low 40s with partly sunny skies overhead.

Temperatures waking up on Friday will be cold back into the mid 20s. Temperatures for our first weekend of 2026 will remain cool in the mid to upper 40s.

Our next chance for showers will be Saturday during the afternoon hours. These will be isolated chances at best. Clouds will begin to clear some heading into Sunday.

A slight warming trend will begin Monday and continue through Wednesday. Highs to start the week will be in the upper 40s and reach the low 50s by midweek.

Tuesday night another small weather system will pass through and could bring isolated showers along with it.
