StormTracker8: Isolated showers through 10PM tonight; a very nice Monday ahead!
Richmond, Va (WRIC) -- After a spectacular Saturday, and some showers across the region on Sunday, we are in for more well above average temperatures through Wednesday of this new work week. Details below.
Tonight’s forecast calls for isolated showers through 10:00 p.m. Sunday night.
After 10:00 p.m. tonight, we will see the showers clear out, and the skies clear out as well, with comfortable temperatures overnight, getting down to 50 to 55 degrees.
Tomorrow’s forecast calls for mostly sunny skies, and very nice afternoon temperatures, rising to 75 to 80 degrees. Monday is my pick day of the new work week, for outdoor activities!
Tuesday will be a very warm day, and in fact we may tie or break our current record high temperature for March 10th, which is currently 81 degrees set back in 2006, the forecast high for Tuesday afternoon is 82 degrees. We will see partly sunny skies as well.
Wednesday will be another very warm day, and in fact we may tie or break another current record high temperature for March 11th, which is currently 82 degrees set back in 1990, the forecast high for Wednesday afternoon is 84 degrees. We will see mostly cloudy skies as well, with scattered showers and thunderstorms by Wednesday evening and Wednesday night.
Thursday is when we will see a stronger weather system sweeping through the Central Virginia region, and bring morning showers and thunderstorms to the area, some of the thunderstorms will likely produce heavy downpours, gusty winds, thunder/lightning and the high temperature of around 70 degrees on Thursday will likely occur in the morning hours. Thursday afternoon we will see dropping temperatures and clearing out skies.
Friday will be back to seasonable levels, with highs 55 to 60 degrees, under partly sunny skies.
Next Saturday right now, is looking pretty good, under partly sunny skies and highs 65 to 70 degrees.
Finally, next Sunday and the following Monday right now, call for mostly cloudy skies both days, with another chance for showers next Sunday night through next Monday.
There are definite signs that mid-March will be at least back to seasonable, possibly below average for a bit of time, so that’s something to watch, beyond 8 days from now.
