StormTracker8: Mixed rain and snow for Sunday

Richmond, Va. (WRIC) -- Partly cloudy skies will be with us this evening and then more clouds will increase overnight tonight as a weather system heads our way. Our overnight lows will fall into the lower 30s.

Saturday will start off with clouds and maybe a couple of passing showers in the morning and then we will see some sunshine return during the afternoon. It will be a seasonable day with highs in the upper 40s.

All eyes are on Sunday but the system that we were watching is extremely weak so we are looking for a few rain and snow showers across Central Virginia mainly along and east of I-95. At best you might see a dusting of snow which would accumulate on the lawns, decks, and patios but the roads will be fine just wet. Our high temperatures will climb into the upper 30s.

Monday, Martin Luther King Jr Day, will feature sunny skies with highs around 40.

Tuesday will be a chilly day with sunny skies and highs around 30. Partly sunny skies will be with us for Wednesday with highs near 40.

Another weather system will push into Central Virginia on Thursday providing more clouds along with the mix of rain and snow showers with highs in the lower to middle 40s.

Partly sunny skies will return to the region for Friday with highs in the upper 40s and looking ahead to Saturday we should continue that sunshine with highs around 50
