StormTracker8: Some showers Monday and Tuesday, from Imelda

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) – The headline of the forecast is the track of Tropical Storm Imelda will only bring us a few showers for Monday into Tuesday.

We will have partly to mostly cloudy skies for tonight and it will be comfortable with lows in the middle 60s.

Monday will feature plenty of clouds with some showers and highs in the upper 70s.

Monday night there might be a few passing showers with lows in the middle 60s.

Tuesday will see plenty of clouds with the risk of a couple of showers with highs in the middle 70s.

Partly sunny skies will return for Wednesday with highs around 70.

Looking ahead to the end of the week we will see mostly sunny skies for Thursday and Friday with highs in the upper 60s.

As we turn our attention toward the upcoming weekend, we will see sunny skies for Saturday and Sunday with highs around 70.

Tracking the tropics

Topical Storm Imelda has winds of 40 mph and it is moving to the north at 9mph. Imelda will move through the Bahamas and then head out to sea. This will bring very minimal impacts to Central Virginia, in fact we are only be looking at a few showers for Monday and Tuesday.

The other area that we are watching in the tropics is Hurricane Humberto, which yesterday was a category five storm now back down to a category 4 storm with winds of 145 mph. This storm as well will head out to sea and not be an impact for our weather.
