StormTracker8: Staying cold; All eyes on a possible weekend snowstorm
Richmond, Va. (WRIC) -- Mainly clear skies will be with us for this evening and tonight with lows around 10 across Metro Richmond which means many of you will be in the single digits.
We will start your Wednesday off with mostly sunny skies but then transition over to partly sunny skies with highs in the upper 20s to near 30.
Thursday will be another chilly day with highs around 30 under mostly sunny skies.
Friday will start off with some sunshine, however throughout the day some high clouds will begin to increase, and our high temperatures will climb into the upper 20s.
All Eyes are on the potential for another snowstorm for the weekend, but the exact crack is not clearly defined by the many weather models that we look at.
If you are in the #TeamSnow camp, then you want path A, which is the latest GFS verify as that would be a whopper of a storm which is everything you have been asking for.
If you are in the team “I kind of like snow but don't want to be buried in for several days” then you're looking for path B which is similar to what the European and Canadian are showing which is mainly snow but most of it would be a long and east of I-95.
If you are in the team, “I can't stand snow” then you're looking for path C which is similar to what the Icon is showing in our diagram and that is a complete miss for Virginia but brings snow for portions of South Carolina and North Carolina.
At this point we will continue to look through the different weather models as they come out and bring you the latest over the next couple of days.
Mostly sunny skies will move in for Monday with highs around 32.
As we look to the middle of next week we should see partly to mostly sunny skies for Tuesday and Wednesday with highs in the middle to Upper 30s.
