StormTracker8: Strong Storms Ending Tonight; Intense Heat Continues
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) – We have the threat for strong to severe storms through around 10pm this evening. Isolated showers are possible through 2am. The main threats are damaging winds and heavy downpours that could lead to isolated flooding. Frequent lightning will also be a concern.
After the storms end, the humidity and heat will continue. Lows tonight will be in the upper 70s. We already had our heat advisory extended through Monday. We will likely see more heat advisories for Central Virginia through mid-week. "Feels Like" temperatures every day could reach up to 110°! Highs every day will be in the mid-90s. Please stay hydrated and take breaks in the A/C if you plan to be outside working during the heat of the afternoon.
We are looking towards a cold front passing through the area on Thursday. This will bring scattered rain and storms for the end of the week, followed by the potential for amazing weather next weekend. Highs could fall to the mid-80s, and a drop in dewpoints is expected as well.
