StormTracker8: Sunny & Chilly Thursday; All Eyes on Friday

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) – Our very active weather pattern we’ve been in since the start of December, will continue with two quick hitting shots of more wintry precipitation set for Friday and again for Sunday. More on that below.

Today’s forecast for this Thursday calls for a mostly sunny, chilly and breezy day ahead, with highs this afternoon rising to 40 to 45 degrees.

Tonight’s forecast for this Thursday night into Friday morning, calls for increasing clouds overnight tonight and colder temperatures, getting down to around 25 degrees in Metro Richmond, which means areas outside of the Metro could get down closer to 20 degrees by Friday morning.

Friday will bring a quick hitting shot of more wintry precipitation in the form of light snow from a Clipper Weather System tomorrow. The approximate timing of the light snow tomorrow is around 4-7 in the morning and continues through 4 in the afternoon, with very light accumulations possible and very chilly to cold temperatures, with highs in the middle 30s.

Saturday will be a day in between weather systems, as we will see mostly cloudy skies and cool temperatures, rising to 45 to 50 degrees.

Sunday is when we see another quick hitting shot of additional wintry precipitation in the form of more light snow from another Clipper Weather System coming into the region on Sunday. It’s too early for specifics but this looks to be overall very light in accumulation once again and happening in the morning hours.

High temperatures on Sunday and on Monday will struggle to rise into the middle 30s.

Big heads up that Sunday night into Monday morning will be very cold, with low temperatures that night down near 20 degrees.

Finally, next Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday all call for a massive warming trend as the weather pattern looks to change a bit, with back to above average temperatures possible by next Thursday and some isolated showers possible by then.
