Richmond, Va (WRIC) -- Central Virginia will finally see some good melting of the lingering snow and ice on the ground in the days ahead, which is great news. Details below.

Tuesday’s forecast calls for increasing clouds, leading to mostly cloudy skies and highs 40 to 45 degrees.

Wednesday we are monitoring for a light wintry mix during the day, in association with our next weather system sweeping through the state of Virginia, under mostly cloudy skies and highs 35 to 40 degrees.

Thursday will be a chilly day overall, under partly sunny skies and highs around 35 degrees.

Friday we are also monitoring another light wintry mix during the PM hours, in association with another weather system that will be sweeping through the state of Virginia, at the end of this work week, under partly sunny skies and highs around 45 degrees.
