StormTracker8: Very warm weather continues through Saturday
Richmond, Va. (WRIC) -- Central Virginia will continue to enjoy well above average conditions through Saturday of this week, before our next weather system sweeps through the viewing area during the day on Sunday bringing changes to the area. Details below.
Today’s forecast for this Friday calls for partly sunny skies, very warm afternoon temperatures, rising to near 85 degrees and breezy conditions from time to time.
Tonight’s forecast calls for partly cloudy skies, very mild overnight temperatures, dropping down to near 65 degrees.
Tomorrow’s forecast for our Saturday calls for another very warm afternoon, with highs around 85 degrees, under partly sunny skies.
Tomorrow night into Sunday morning, will bring us increasing clouds and very mild temperatures, dropping down to 65 to 70 degrees.
Sunday is of course Easter, and unfortunately, we are monitoring our next weather system which will sweep through the state of Virginia during the day on Sunday, bringing likely showers and thunderstorms to the area. Any thunderstorms that develop on Sunday from approximately 10:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m. will have the following threats possible: locally heavy downpours, gusty winds, frequent lightning and small hail. I can’t entirely rule out a severe storm or two during the day on Sunday, primarily bringing the risk of damaging wind gusts.

Monday for the new work and school week, next week, will be a beautiful day, under mostly sunny skies, and seasonable temperatures, with highs around 65 degrees.
Tuesday is Opening Day for the Richmond Flying Squirrels at the brand-new CarMax Park in Richmond, and it looks nice, under mostly sunny skies and highs around 60 degrees.
Heads up, next Wednesday morning, for all Central Virginia will be chilly, with morning temperatures, starting off in the 30s.
Wednesday will be a cooler day, under partly sunny skies, and highs 55 to 60 degrees.
Finally, next Thursday and next Friday will be gorgeous weather days, under partly sunny skies and another warming trend on the way!
