StormTracker8: Warm This Weekend; Rain Saturday Night into Sunday
Richmond, Va. (WRIC) -- Highs this afternoon will reach the mid 70s for most across Central Virginia. A back door cold front should keep most of us from getting close to 80°, like we saw yesterday. Folks near the VA/NC line may climb closer to 80°, while coastal communities will only be in the 50s. A spotty shower is possible today, but truly very few of us will see any rain drops.
Tonight, lows will fall into the upper 40s. Saturday is the River City Half & 5k, and the weather will be perfect! We'll likely be near 60° during race time.
Highs on Saturday will be in the upper 70s. Rain showers are possible after sunset and into Sunday, and even a rumble of thunder can't be ruled out. Sunday, we could see the continuation of those showers. Highs will be in the mid 70s. Showers will dissipate as we head into Monday.
Highs next week will stick to the 70s. Wednesday into Thursday, we are tracking the possibility of a cold front that could bring us a round of rain and thunderstorms, along with a cool down for the very end of the week. Right now, there is a good chance we will see temperatures fall back to near "normal" for March.
