StormTracker8: Wet Thursday; More rain in the coming days

Richmond, Va. (WRIC) -- Don't forget the umbrella today! We already have rain showers on the table this morning. We'll continue to see scattered showers all day. Highs will be in the 50s.

Overnight, isolated showers will be possible. Lows will be in the 40s. For Friday, isolated showers could last through noon. Then, we'll see sunshine! Friday afternoon and evening plans will be good to go and rain free. Highs will be in the 60s.

Friday night will stay dry. Saturday, a passing shower or two will be possible during the middle of the day, mainly for folks south of I-64. Most of us are expected to stay dry for Saturday. Don't cancel outdoor plans! Highs will be in the 60s.

Sunday early morning, isolated showers will begin. Sunday will likely be another washout, with most of Central Virginia seeing rain all day. Temperatures will be much cooler, likely staying in the mid 40s for most of the day. Sunday night into Monday, as temperatures fall, there is a chance we could see the rain transition to snow. The amount remains uncertain. Precipitation is expected to wrap up by sunrise on Monday.

Rain totals could exceed one inch for many locations. This is all great news for the ongoing drought situation.

To start next week, temperatures will be cooler and skies will be clearer.
