Suspect arrested after allegedly firing shots at female victim driving in Henrico’s Varina area

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A suspect was arrested early Sunday morning after allegedly firing shots at a female victim driving in Henrico County's Varina area.
At around 3 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 19, Henrico Communications received a call from a female saying she was being shot at by a vehicle following her near Old Osbourne Turnpike and McCoul Street.
Officers were able to find and stop the suspect vehicle on South Airport Drive and Olga Sauer Boulevard, safely detaining the driver and other occupants.
Police determined that the suspect was the ex-boyfriend of the female victim.
During a search of the vehicle, police recovered a rifle with an extended magazine.
The suspect was arrested on multiple weapons charges and was taken to the Henrico County Jail.
According to police, no one was injured, and there was no reported damage to any property.
Henrico Police confirmed there is no ongoing threat to the public, and they are not looking for anyone else involved with this incident as of the time of reporting.
