Suspect identified in Lunenburg County shooting

LUNEBURG COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- The Lunenburg County Sheriff’s Office, Kenbridge Police Department and Virginia State Police (VSP) are investigating a shooting that occurred Sunday afternoon.

On Sunday, Feb. 8, at around 2:43 p.m., the Lunenburg County Sheriff’s Office, Kenbridge Police Department, and VSP responded to Kenbridge Station 7 for a report of a person who arrived at the station with a gunshot wound.

The initial investigation has reported that an individual was shot at a residence and then drove to the station. Once there, they received medical assistance and were taken to a hospital by a MedFlight for more treatment.

The suspect in the incident has been identified as Charles Aaron Stokes and is said to be driving a 2025 black Toyota Camry with a Virginia license plate number TGB-5260.
