Suspects force way into Caroline tobacco store, steal cash register
CAROLINE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- The Caroline County Sheriff's Office is searching for multiple suspects after authorities say they broke into a local tobacco store and stole its cash register.
At about 3 a.m. on Sunday, April 27, deputies were called to the Tobacco Villa at 13258 Fredericksburg Turnpike for report of a burglary in progress.
When they arrived, they found the glass of the store's front door had been shattered. Various merchandise, as well as the cash register, had been stolen.
Surveillance cameras captured footage of three men in hooded sweatshirts breaking the front door window to force their way inside, according to the sheriff's office. They can then be seen getting into a blue Volkswagen Atlas, seemingly driven by fourth suspect, and leaving the scene.

The Atlas was later captured on license plate reader technology in Washington, D.C., per authorities.
