Sweetgreen restaurant to open in Richmond’s Carytown

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- A Sweetgreen restaurant will open in Richmond's Carytown area on Tuesday, offering salads, protein plates and a new menu item on opening day.

Sweetgreen will open its first location in Richmond at 3502 W. Cary St. on Tuesday, March 18.

According to a spokesperson for the restaurant, Sweetgreen will offer salads, warm bowls, protein plates and sides with favorites such as the Harvest Bowl and Crispy Rice Bowl.

Sweetgreen's Richmond restaurant will also reportedly launch its newest menu item -- Ripple Fries -- on opening day.

The spokesperson said Ripple Fries are seasoned with a blend of salt and herbs, air-fried in avocado oil and come with the choice of Garlic Aioli or Pickle Ketchup sauce for dipping.

For every meal purchased on opening day, Sweetgreen will donate a meal to Richmond's Feed More to fight food insecurity, according to the spokesperson.

Additionally, to celebrate the opening day, guests will be able to enjoy mini floral bouquets from the Richmond Flower Truck while supplies last.

Sweetgreen's Richmond location will be open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily and will reportedly accommodate up to 24 diners inside and six diners on the restaurant's patio.
