Teenage boy fighting for life after Memorial Day shooting in Chesterfield

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A teenager was shot in the chest in Chesterfield County on Memorial Day.

At about 3:42 p.m. on Monday, May 26, officers with the Chesterfield County Police Department were called to an apartment complex in the 5400 block of Remuda Drive for report of a shooting.

When they arrived, officers found a teenage boy in the apartment complex's parking lot with a gunshot wound. Police at the scene told 8News that he was shot in the chest.

The teenager was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
