Three hospitalized after domestic assault in Powhatan County

POWHATAN COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Three people have been hospitalized after two were stabbed during a domestic assault in Powhatan County on Saturday night.

On Saturday, Feb. 7, at around 7:45 p.m., the Powhatan County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 2000 block of Red Land Road for the report of a domestic assault.

Once on the scene, deputies found a man and a woman who were injured from stab wounds. Deputies then responded to a neighboring residence, where a short standoff with a man took place, who was also injured.

All three subjects were taken to a nearby hospital, where their conditions are unknown at this time.

Chief Deputy Jeffery S. Searfoss reported that this was an isolated incident and that there is no threat to the surrounding community.
