Three teenagers arrested for allegedly possessing firearms during traffic stop
HOPEWELL, Va. (WRIC) -- Three teenagers were arrested after police say they were found with multiple firearms during a traffic stop in Hopewell on Sunday.
At about 2:22 p.m. on Sunday, March 9, officers with the Hopewell Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle. According to police, the three 16-year-olds inside had multiple firearms with them.

The teenagers were taken into custody and taken to Crater Detention Center in Disputanta.
"Incidents involving underage individuals with firearms pose a serious risk to the community," said Hopewell Police Chief Gregory Taylor. "The police department is committed to holding juveniles accountable for firearm-related offenses and ensuring they face appropriate legal consequences. Through proactive enforcement and collaboration with the juvenile justice system, we will continue working to prevent gun violence and keep our community safe."
