Toddler dies after reported drowning at pool in Henrico County

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A toddler is dead after police said he was found unresponsive following a report of a drowning at a pool in Henrico County Sunday afternoon.

At 1:49 p.m. on Sunday, June 15, officers with the Henrico County Police Division responded to the 8300 block of Bowers Lane for a reported drowning at a pool.

When officers arrived, they found an unresponsive toddler. Officers provided life-saving measures until Henrico County Division Fire crews arrived to take the toddler to a local hospital for treatment.

Police said he died due to his injuries at the hospital. There were no signs of foul play, according to officials.

This follows a reported drowning incident in Chesterfield County earlier in June that left a child fighting for their life.
