Tractor-trailer carrying ‘unknown substance’ collides with train in Hopewell

HOPEWELL, Va. (WRIC) -- A tractor-trailer hauling an "unknown substance" collided with a train in Hopewell on Thursday. At about 11:40 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 30, the Hopewell City Police Department received reports of a crash involving a train and a tractor-trailer near Industrial Street and E. Randolph Road. There were minor injuries as a result of the crash, but a police spokesperson did not say how many people were hurt. The crash resulted in the road being closed for a significant period of time.
