Two arrested for allegedly possessing firearms during Petersburg traffic stop

PETERSBURG, Va. (WRIC) -- Two men were arrested after police said they were found with two firearms during a traffic stop in Petersburg on Thursday evening, as officers continue their efforts to ensure the safety and security of the city’s residents.

At about 11:27 p.m. on Thursday, April 24, officers with the Petersburg Bureau of Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle. Police said the two 20-year-olds had had two firearms with them.

The two people -- identified as 20-year-old Ky'Rik Webb and 20-year-old Allen Adams -- were arrested and charged for possession of a concealed weapon, and are now being held without bond.

"Operation Safe Streets represents our ongoing commitment to maintaining community safety and alleviating crime-related concerns," said Emanuel Chambliss, Deputy Chief of Police. "In alignment with this initiative, the Petersburg Bureau of Police remains dedicated to removing illegally possessed firearms, apprehending individuals with outstanding warrants, and who commit offenses from our community streets."
