Two men arrested after Chesterfield home, vehicles hit by gunfire

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Two men are facing several charges each after a Chesterfield County home and multiple vehicles were hit by gunfire.

At about 1:50 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 13, officers with the Chesterfield County Police Department were called to the area of Caldwell and Pate avenues for a report of a shooting.

When they arrived, officers found multiple shell casings, as well as three vehicles and a home that had been hit with gunfire. No one was injured.

Following an investigation, two suspects were arrested on Monday, Aug. 18: 19-year-old Willian Aristides Hernandez Paredes and 21-year-old Selvin Daniel Meren Castillo, both of Richmond.

Delivery driver suspect sought by Chesterfield Police after hit-and-run

Paredes and Castillo were each charged with the following:

  • One count of shooting into an occupied dwelling
  • Two counts of vandalism
  • One count of possession of a firearm while not being a lawfully-admitted U.S. citizen

Both are being held at the Chesterfield County Jail without bond as of the time of reporting.

According to police, these arrests were carried out in cooperation with both the Richmond Police Department and the U.S. Marshals Service Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force.

Initially, police said this shooting was being investigated as potentially related to another shooting that took place on Tuesday, Aug. 12, on Drexelbrook Road. 8News reached out to authorities to confirm the status of the investigation. An update will be provided when possible.
