Two Orange residents arrested in drug bust involving $60,000 in cocaine
ORANGE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Two Orange County residents were arrested in a month-long investigation for the possession and intention to distribute illegal drugs, including tens of thousands of dollars in cocaine.
According to Virginia State Police, 47-year-old Rion J. Ward and 42-year-old Zakiyya D. Ward, both of Orange, were arrested and charged on Friday, Feb. 21 after a search warrant was served in the 1300 block of Kendall Road in Orange County.
During this operation, the following were seized:
- 600 grams of cocaine, estimated street value of $60,000
- 121 grams of marijuana, estimated street value of $3,000
- Three firearms, valued at $1,500
- $32,920 in cash

Rion Ward was charged with possession with intent to distribute Schedule I/II narcotics and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Zakiyya Ward was charged with intent to distribute Schedule I/II narcotics and possession of a firearm while in possession of Schedule I/II narcotics.
Both suspects were arrested without incident and taken to the Central Virginia Regional Jail. They are currently being held without a bond.
