Two people arrested after shots fired at tow truck driver in Albemarle

ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Two people are facing charges after shots were fired at a tow truck driver in Albemarle County early Tuesday morning.
At around 1:45 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 9, the the Albemarle County Police Department (ACPD) was dispatched to the 2400 block of Peyton Drive for a report of shots fired.
A tow truck driver reported that a male suspect shot at them while towing a vehicle from an apartment complex.
Two shell casings recovered at the scene, according to ACPD.
There were no reported injuries or property damage.
The truck driver reportedly drove to their company's lot in Charlottesville, where ACPD and Charlottesville Police Department (CPD) responded to meet them.
Police said two people -- the registered vehicle owner, 27-year-old Octavia Williams, and the suspected shooter, 31-year-old Marquice Waller -- arrived at the towing lot to retrieve the vehicle and were taken into custody.
Officers found a firearm reported stolen out of Albemarle in July inside Williams' purse.
Waller was charged with the following offenses in Albemarle:
- Two counts of attempted malicious wounding
- Two counts of using a firearm in the commission of a felony
- Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
CPD also charged Williams and Waller with one count each of possession of stolen property.
Both are being held at Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail.
