Two residents without a home, two pets killed in Chesterfield house fire
CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Two pets are dead and two residents are without a home and after a Monday night house fire in Chesterfield County. At about 7:45 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 18, firefighters with Chesterfield County Fire and EMS were called to the 9700 block of Dermotte Court for report of a house fire. The first crew arrived within five minutes of the initial call, according to fire officials. They found flames and smoke pouring from one side of the home's second floor. It took just under 20 minutes to put out the fire. According to fire officials, two adults were home at the time. One of them was treated for minor smoke inhalation, while the other was unhurt. Two pets -- a dog and a cat -- unfortunately died in the fire. All charges dismissed in murder of 55-year-old Richmond man Those two residents have been displaced by the damage to their home.
