VCU tops Miami 77-70 for 7th at Charleston Classic
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Joe Bamisile's 22 points and Max Shulga's 18 points propelled VCU to a 77-70 victory over Miami in the seventh-place game of the Charleston Classic on Sunday. VCU took an early lead and maintained it throughout the game, pulling away with a 10-0 run in the first half to build a 33-21 lead. Two 3-pointers were hit by Bamisile in the run and he finished the half with 16 points. At the break, VCU was leading 42-33. For a 7 1/2-minute stretch of the second half, the Rams had a double-digit lead and were ahead 72-62, while Miami was in the middle of a 10-0 run with 2 1/2 minutes left.
