VDOT invites the public to share feedback on travel conditions on Route 200 in Lancaster
LANCASTER COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) is inviting the public to provide feedback on travel lanes along Route 200 in Lancaster.
According to VDOT, the purpose of the study is to address safety and operational improvements to Route 200 between Old Saint Johns Road and Yorkshire Road.
This study, also known as the Strategically Targeted Affordable Roadway Solutions (STARS), will also look at potential safety and operational improvements along Route 200 between the two roads.
Draft recommendations will be available and presented to the public in fall 2025. The public will then be able to comment on those draft recommendations before the plan is finalized.
VDOT says the STARS study will not set construction dates for any improvements. However, they will develop proposed improvements that localities can pursue for funding.
During this process, VDOT is set to partner with Lancaster County and the Northern Neck Planning District Commission.
Comments made during this period will help determine which locations along Route 200 in the study area should be reviewed for potential improvements.
To submit comments you must submit an online survey first--the survey will be open to accepting comments through Tuesday, May 27.
Comments can also be shared in writing or by email to Linda LaSut, VDOT Assistant Planning Manager on 87 Deacon Road, Fredericksburg, Va 22405, or emailed here. When submitting your comment make sure to reference “Route 200 in Lancaster” in your subject line.
