VDOT wants drivers’ thoughts on Powhite Parkway Project
CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Residents have a chance to weigh in on the future of the Powhite Parkway on Wednesday, Oct. 30. The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) is holding community office hours to discuss ideas for the Powhite Parkway Project. VDOT's main goal for this project is to ease up on congested traffic and improve regional connectivity. The improvements would go from Woolridge Road to Route 360, which is Hull Street Road in western Chesterfield. The department came up with the idea for new four-lane roads and limiting access to key intersections. Residents will have the chance to share their own ideas at the Chesterfield Baptist Church Fellowship Hall, located at 16520 Hull Street Road in the county's Moseley area from 9 a.m. to noon. on Wednesday. VDOT said they’re not expecting to have a complete and approved plan until early 2026. If you couldn't make the community office hours on Wednesday, there’s a public meeting about the environmental impact of the project from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 7 at the Chesterfield Career and Technical Center Hull Campus, located at 13900 Hull Street Road North in the county's Midlothian area. There's another community office hours from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. on Nov. 14 at the Clover Hill Library Community Room located at 6701 Deer Run Drive in the county's Midlothian area.
