VDOT wants your feedback on King William Avenue’s travel conditions as part of transportation study

KING WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) is inviting the general public to share their viewpoints on travel conditions in King William County and West Point near King William Avenue on Thursday as part of a study through mid-April.

The STARS study -- which stands for Strategically Targeted Affordable Roadway Solutions -- seeks to identify and assess any possible safety and operational reforms along the Route 30 corridor, or King William County from Mount Olive Cohoke Road to Route 33.

According to an announcement from VDOT on Thursday, March 27, the study aims to recognize safety, congestion, access management and bicycle and pedestrian accommodation needs. The survey will be open for feedback through Thursday, April 10.

VDOT planners and engineers work with the community planners and stakeholders to address safety and traffic congestion issues in Virginia, developing proposals for upgrades that would likely need funding.

VDOT asks those who wish to submit comments to take the online survey.
