Virginia Department of Transportation pre-treats roads ahead of winter storm

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Virginia Department of Transportation crews began pre-treating roads in some regions of the state ahead of the expected winter storm.

The department said in a social media post on Monday, Feb. 10 that crews were pre-treating roads in preparation for the winter storm.

Drivers were reminded to stay clear of brine trucks on the roads.

Governor Glenn Youngkin declared a state of emergency on Monday, and recommended that drivers stay off roads as much as possible during the winter storm.
