Jones caught five passes for 129 yards and two touchdowns to help North Carolina beat Virginia 41-14, snapping a four-game losing streak. The Tar Heels (4-4, 1-3 ACC) dominated the second and third quarters, ending their longest losing streak since 2018. Virginia (4-4, 2-3) struggled offensively, only scoring a touchdown late in the game when backup quarterback Tony Muskett threw a 68-yard pass to JR Wilson. North Carolina outgained Virginia 428 yards to 288 and held them to 6 of 16 on third downs. The Tar Heels' defense recorded 10 sacks, with Kaimon Rucker getting three and Beau Atkinson adding two. Virginia's offensive line faced challenges, with Noah Josey stepping in as center due to injuries.
