Virginia flags ordered at half-staff following Cheney’s death

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Governor Glenn Youngkin ordered U.S. and Virginia flags on state and local grounds to be flown at half-staff on Tuesday, Nov. 4.

The half-staff flags are in honor of former Vice President Dick Cheney, who died on Monday, Nov. 3. He was 84 years old. The former vice president served under President George W. Bush from 2001 to 2009.

Youngkin's announcement claims the order is pursuant to a proclamation from President Donald Trump. The White House website has not yet shared the proclamation as of the time of this reporting.

The order requires flags to remain at half-staff through sunset on the day of Cheney's interment.

Information on funeral arrangements has not been announced.
