Virginia Museum of History and Culture to host HistoryFest in May
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- HistoryFest, a day-long festival featuring over 20 presentations on music and art, travel, food, historical figures and more, will be held at the Virginia Museum of History and Culture in May.
General admission tickets are $85, and museum members' tickets are $75. According to the museum, the following presentations will be held on May 17, with doors opening at 10 a.m.
From 11 to 11:45 a.m.:
- "Food That Changed America," presented by Allen Pietrobon
- "Vistas of Democracy: The National Parks in American History," presented by Richard Newman
- "The American Revolution: Stories You Never Learned In School," presented by Richard Bell
From noon to 12:45 p.m.:
- "Travel in America," presented by Allen Pietrobon
- "Inside The Mind of Abraham Lincoln," presented by Louis Masur
- "Musicals That Changed Broadway Forever," presented by Sean Hartley
From 1:15 to 2 p.m.:
- "The American Revolution: Stories You Never Learned In School," presented by Richard Bell
- "The Black Founding Father Every American Should Know," presented by Richard Newman
- "Thomas Jefferson: What I think Now," presented by Steve Edenbo
From 2:15 to 3 p.m.:
- "The History of Ice Cream," presented by Leni Sorensen
- "The Rock Experience: The Music and Stories of Classic Songs," presented by Louis Masur
- "The Artistic Genius of Michelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci," presented by Denise Budd
From 3:30 to 4:15 p.m.:
- "Virginia in 10 Objects," presented by the Virginia Museum of History and Culture
- "The Wines of World Leaders," presented by Tracy Waldron
- "Films That Changed America," presented by Will Kuhn
