Virginia State Police investigating ‘suspicious death’ after man found shot dead inside Cumberland home

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Virginia State Police is investigating a "suspicious death" after a 63-year-old man was found shot dead inside his Cumberland County home earlier this week.

On Monday, Jan. 26, state police were requested to investigate the death of 63-year-old Andrew M. Jackson, of Columbia. Jackson was found dead inside his home in the 1400 block of Columbia Road, according to police.

Police said a preliminary investigation indicates Jackson died due to gunshot wounds.
