Virginia State Police seized over 50 lbs of drugs in statewide investigation
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Virginia State Police (VSP) has provided another update in its statewide investigation on recovering firearms, narcotics and tackling human trafficking.
From March 14 to March 20, state police and other law enforcement agencies have aimed to investigate multiple crimes across the state -- which includes the recovery of firearms and narcotics, as well as addressing human trafficking.
According to VSP, the following is a summary of highlights from the investigation:
Firearm Recovery
- 10 firearms total were recovered at the value of $5,000
Narcotics Seizures
- Total of 50.5 lbs of seized narcotics, as well as 100 controlled substance pills
- Denied revenue of seized narcotics were valued at $878,062
- Narcotics recovered: 9.27 lbs of Cocaine, 1.13 lbs of Crack Cocaine, 29.15 lbs of Marijuana, 12.04 lbs of Methamphetamine
Stolen Vehicle Recovery
- 1 stolen vehicle recovered
Gaming Enforcement
- 15 gaming tips received -- 1,393 total
Human Trafficking Investigations
- 20 additional human trafficking tips received -- 767 total
- 195 cases investigated or currently being investigated
- 2,590 individual investigative activities
- 62 victims identified and offered services
Virginia State Police said the mission of this operation is to enhance public safety and disrupt criminal enterprises — by collaborating with local, state and federal agencies to keep communities safe statewide.
