Visitor’s Center and Market 5 opening in Charles City County
CHARLES CITY COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Charles City County will celebrate the brand-new Visitor’s Center and Market 5 with grand openings on Wednesday afternoon.
The celebrations will begin at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 16, at the new Charles City County Visitor’s Center, located at 10740 Courthouse Road. At 4 p.m., the county will hold a ribbon-cutting and reception at Market 5, located just a short walk away at 11601 John Tyler Memorial Highway.
“This is an exciting moment for Charles City County,” said Cynthia Boone, Director of Economic Development and Tourism. “The Visitor’s Center and Market 5 represent our commitment to enriching the experience for both residents and travelers while supporting small businesses and preserving our community’s unique character.”
The event will include remarks from multiple state and local leaders, including:
- Cat Anthony, Executive Director, Virginia Capital Trail Foundation
- Becky McDonough, CEO, Hopewell/Prince George Chamber of Commerce
- Rita McClenny, President and CEO, Virginia Tourism Corporation
- The Honorable Delores McQuinn, Virginia House of Delegates, 81st District
The new Visitor's Center will serve as a way to connect the area's history and culture, and Market 5 is reportedly "poised to become a central gathering place and tourism anchor, offering unique shopping, dining, and event opportunities."
