RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- As this weekend's winter storm wraps up, road conditions remain an issue for drivers Monday morning, with over 400 reported crashes this weekend, according to Virginia State Police (VSP).

This is an increase from the 378 crashes reported by the department in the evening on Sunday, Jan. 25. Central Virginia saw 93 crashes, with three of them resulting in injury.
State police are asking drivers to stay off the roads this morning until 10 a.m. and, if you are on the road, give VDOT trucks and emergency crews room to do their jobs.
Due to road conditions, response times to emergencies could also be delayed, "also understand that storm impacts could delay emergency response to stranded motorists," said a spokesperson with VSP.
Sergeant Jessica Shehan with VSP sent out a message via social media on Monday morning showing road conditions along the I-95 and I-85 interchange, and asking drivers to stay home.
"Stay home. If you do go out, take water, cell phone charger, things like that," Shehan said. "Make sure you check in your car before you go out, wear your seatbelt, turn your headlights on and clear all ice and snow off your vehicles."
