Wanted Fluvanna man arrested in Charlottesville on multiple charges

FLUVANNA COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A wanted Fluvanna County man was arrested in Charlottesville early Wednesday morning on "outstanding warrants."

At 12:45 a.m. on Wednesday, July 30, deputies with the Fluvanna County Sheriff's Office arrested Michael Wayne Morris on "outstanding warrants" in the area of Clarion Pointe Hotel on Emmet Street in Charlottesville.

He was taken into custody without incident and charged with the following:

  • Possession or transportation of firearms by a convicted felon
  • Assault and battery against a family or household member
  • Brandishing of a firearm
  • Felony eluding
  • Driving while revoked
  • Reckless driving
  • Felony hit and run

Some of these charges are from an incident that occurred in late June, according to online court records, while the others are from a separate incident that reportedly occurred earlier in July.

Morris is being held without bond at the Albemarle County Regional Jail.
