‘War in Pieces’ production takes the stage in Richmond next month
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Firehouse Theatre and the Virginia Memorial Foundation have partnered to present "War in Pieces" -- a festival of four original one-act plays written by Virginia veterans.
The production opens on Friday, April 10, at the Virginia War Memorial's Alumni Hall, 621 S. Belvidere St., and will run for 10 performances through Sunday, April 19.
"War in Pieces" was developed through the Mighty Pen Project, the Virginia War Memorial Foundation's 12-week-long university-level writing course offered to veterans and their families for free. Classes are taught by David L. Robbins -- New York Times bestselling author and founder of the Mighty Pen Project.
The performance schedule is as follows:
- Friday, April 10 at 7:30 p.m.
- Saturday, April 11 at 2 p.m.
- Saturday, April 11 at 7:30 p.m.
- Sunday, April 12 at 2 p.m.
- Wednesday, April 15 at 7:30 p.m.
- Thursday, April 16 at 2 p.m.
- Friday, April 17 at 7:30 p.m.
- Saturday, April 18 at 4 p.m.
- Saturday, April 18 at 7:30 p.m.
- Sunday, April 19 at 2 p.m.
Tickets are $35 per person for general admission and $15 for active duty military and veterans. They can be purchased at firehousetheatre.org or by calling the box office at 804-355-2001.
