Water main break results in loss of water, road closure in Chesterfield

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A water main break resulted in pressure issues, loss of water and a road closure in Chesterfield on Friday afternoon.

According to the county's Department of Public Utilities (DPU), they first received a call about the break, located at S. Arch Road between Castleburg Drive and Redbridge Road, at around 12:30 p.m. on Friday, June 27.

Customers in the area had fluctuations in water pressure, but the water pressure was not fully lost. Pressure was restored at 2:30 p.m. for those experiencing issues, as DPU isolated the water line.

Due to the line isolation, 15 customers in Chesterfield are currently without water, according to the DPU.

While crews work to fix the break, S. Arch Road is closed between Castleburg Drive and Redbridge Road as of the time of reporting.

There is no current timeline for when the repairs will be completed, but crews will remain at the site.
