"This area is served by a well water system that was impacted by the storm," the county said. "Restoration efforts are already underway and Hanover’s Department of Public Utilities is working diligently to return service to normal capacity."
Central Virginians began losing power in the early evening on Thursday, with nearly 90,000 buildings without power at the peak of the outage.
As of 9 p.m. on Friday, over 300 homes and businesses in Hanover County remain without power, according to Dominion Energy.
Hanover officials added that these water issues are an "isolated incident" that is only impacting the Historic Courthouse area.
