Winners announced for 2025 Virginia Craft Beer Cup
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- The winners of the 2025 Virginia Craft Beer Cup were recently announced at the Virginia Craft Beer Summit & Gala on Monday.
The gala was held on Monday, Aug. 11, at the Farm Bureau Center in Doswell and brought together around 500 brewers and craft beer enthusiasts, according to a release.
Additionally, there was a new competition and award possibility -- The Best Firkin Beer in Virginia -- where brewers could submit real ale and cask-aged beers that did not have to be commercially available.
The ceremony itself honored brewing talent through 31 style categories, with honorable mentions alongside bronze, silver and gold medals, the release said.
In another new award, the Virginia Brewery of the Year was decided by picking out the highest total points for a brewery's winning beers.
“This year’s entries showcased an impressive range of styles and technical skill," said Charlie Harr, head judge of the Virginia Craft Beer Cup. "Virginia brewers continue to push boundaries while maintaining exceptional quality—judging these beers was both a challenge and a privilege.”
The recipients of this year's awards include:
- Best of Show (Gold) -- Knight's Respite by St. George Brewing Co.
- Best of Show (Silver) -- BA Pony by South Street Brewery
- Best of Show (Bronze) -- Providence Pilsner by Gloucester Brewing Co.
